Dress Code

We believe that proper attire reflects and promotes good behavior and attitudes.  Children are expected to dress in good taste and follow the uniform policy stated below and in our Parent-Student Handbook. Students in 3K do not wear the school uniform; they come to school dressed in nice play clothes.

On the first Friday of every month, students are rewarded with an "out of uniform" day, and every Friday, students may wear "spirit wear" tops with their uniform bottoms.
 

School Uniform

Jumper or Plaid Pleated Skirt or Skort: Bel Air Plaid (from Uniform Store) or Hunter/Classic Navy Plaid (from Lands' End): Skirt hems must be within 3 inches of the knee.
 
Pants: Navy blue uniform twill and corduroy dress pants. No leggings, stirrup, or stretch pants with this exception: Plain navy blue ankle-length leggings will be allowed during cold weather under the uniform jumper or skirt. Pants must fit appropriately in the waist and length, therefore a belt is recommended.

Shirts:  White or forest green collared, short or long-sleeved, woven or knit polo shirts.  Forest green polo shirts must be purchased from Lands End and have the Lumen Christi emblem embroidered on the upper left. White blouses and turtlenecks may also be worn.  Tops must be tucked in at all times of the day. 
 
Sweaters/Vests:  Forest green or navy blue crew neck, v-neck, or cardigan sweater or sweater vest may be worn over the polo shirt, blouse, or turtleneck.  Evergreen or navy blue half-zip fleeces from Lands' End with school logo are also an option. (this is not a requirement)
 
Sweatshirts: A forest green sweatshirt, available through Spirit Wear, with an embroidered school logo may be worn over the polo shirt, blouse, or turtleneck. (this is not a requirement)
 
Shorts: Navy blue uniform dress walking shorts or Bel Air plaid skort (just above the knee in length)can be worn.  Shorts must fit appropriately in the waist.
 
Shoes: All shoes must have a closed toe and fit the foot securely. Sandals and flip-flops of any kind are not permitted. 

Socks/Tights: White, navy blue, black, or forest green anklet or knee high socks or tights must be worn and be visible above the shoe. 

Jewelry/Accessories: To include belts, jewelry, hair ornamentation and make-up. In an effort to reduce distractions to the classroom environment and to promote safety the following rules are in place:

• Earrings: One earring per ear. Dangling earrings are not allowed.
• Make-up: Make-up is not allowed. Hair color must be natural. 

• Belts: If a belt is worn it must be black or brown.
