CURRICULUM
In 3rd -5th grade, all learning is based on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's academic guides and national, state, and local standards. Students are assessed on each specific standard throughout the year.
While we value our academics, our goal is to foster our students' spiritual, emotional, and physical growth. For example, it is in 3rd - 5th grade that we want our students to begin to develop a strong sense of independence and confidence. Additionally, we encourage our students' curiosity about the wider world and use technology to obtain information and communicate with others.
See the curriculum guides below for detailed information on our grade-level standards.
SPECIALS
Each week, students attend Art, Music, PE (Physical Education), Library, ACES (led by the school counselor), and Spanish.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT
We are committed to providing each student with a differentiated learning experience at our school. A learning support teacher designated to the intermediate grades allows us to do this.
In math, each unit is taught in differentiated groups with new grouping opportunities every few weeks, allowing our students to thrive as teachers encourage them to reach their full potential in that unit.
In literacy, teachers structure their lessons in a way that allows for individualized attention while increasing each student's independence.
