CURRICULUM
In 6th - 8th Grade, all learning is based on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's academic guides and national, state, and local standards. Students are assessed on each specific standard throughout the year.
In middle school, we recognize that our students need to increase their academic competency and confidence, with increasing accountability, in preparation for the challenges of high school and beyond. Lumen Christi's challenging Middle School curriculum provides ample opportunity to advance academic, social, and emotional development. With a focus on faith, values, and leadership skills in addition to academic excellence, we truly educate the whole child.
See the curriculum guides below for detailed information on our grade-level standards.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT
We are committed to providing each student with a differentiated learning experience at our school. A learning support teacher designated to the middle grades allows us to address the unique needs of each student.
In math, students are taught in differentiated groups. In 8th Grade, our students will complete either Pre-Algebra or the high school equivalent of Algebra 1.
In literacy, teachers structure their lessons in a way that allows for individualized learning. Students read various texts that promote contextual discussions and challenge their thought processes. Additionally, they work on developing their voice as a writer.
