Lumen Christi Catholic School has been recognized by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for outstanding technological achievement and innovation. At our school, technology is integrated across the curriculum to maximize student opportunities for critical thinking, creation, and publishing. Our students are creating and publishing real-world products to be shared with the world.
Our students have access to diverse media, ranging from iPads, Chromebooks, and Macbooks. By exposing them to a variety of resources, we are encouraging them to think critically and adapt to different situations as this will be their future. Teaching students to gather information using an assortment of devices in an organized manner is essential for their success.
Additionally, our students are taught how to use multiple applications on these devices, and we often let them decide what tool to use to gather, evaluate, and utilize information. In addition to having a variety of technology resources available to them at our school, Lumen Christi Catholic School has a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) policy in place in the middle school so that students can choose what tools best fit their learning needs.
“Technology allows us to remove the limitations of the traditional classroom and teach and learn in ways that were previously inconceivable.” - AJ Juliani
